The Shakespeare Oracle

An 87-card Oracle deck and 288-page companion book based on the life and work of William Shakespeare.

Based on the life and work of William Shakespeare, The Shakespeare Oracle combines history, psychology, literary criticism, and esoteric wisdom in the way only Welkin Tarot can. Unlike most oracular decks, Welkin decks are accompanied by a substantial companion book detailing each card's significance while providing psychological and historical context. The cards are made of high-quality stock for long life and are large-format for full visual appreciation. The card images have been created using Welkin's complex collage style, which incorporates classical paintings with posters, digital textures, and graphic art created in Photoshop.

Although designed as a companion to Welkin's The Shakespeare Tarot, The Shakespeare Oracle is also a stand-alone oracle deck that uses Shakespeare's life and work as a lens through which to view, reflect on, and interpret our current experience. Less formal and externally structured than a Tarot deck, the Shakespeare Oracle has allowed me to express and explore areas of thought, feeling, form, and functionality either overlooked or simply denied me in The Shakespeare Tarot.

The in-depth companion key is a 288-page full-colour trade-paper book. The cards are large-format, 2.75" x 4.75", printed on 320 GSM card stock. The deck comes in a specially designed, individually sealed 2-piece rigid lux box.
